Skydiving in Mexico: 6 Places to Get Adventure and Adrenaline!

You’ve done it all, and the time has come to try something new, something that will make your whole being vibrate at around 13,000 feet above sea level (3,962 meters above sea level) with a breathtaking view that will remain in your memory: Skydiving in Mexico!

But where can you do it? How much does it cost? Do you need experience? Here’s all the information you need to take the plunge. Do you dare?

To begin, the first thing you should know is that there are three basic types of skydiving:

  1. Tandem Jump is the most popular and recommended. It involves a 40-second freefall from an average height of 10,000 feet (3,048 meters), followed by an eight-minute parachute descent, all while being securely attached to your instructor or jumpmaster via a dual harness beneath a dynamic air canopy.

A thrilling experience!

2. Assisted Freefall is for those interested in learning and completing the various levels of the Freefall Course in order to obtain their skydiving sport license. It includes multiple levels, along with equipment, video recording, aircraft, and instructors.

3. Canopy Flight is the modality focused on learning techniques and exercises to improve your parachute flight, safety, and maneuvering skills.

The general requirements for skydiving in Mexico are to weigh less than 80 kilograms (some places allow up to 105 kilograms), wear comfortable clothing and athletic or rubber-soled shoes (no hooks), and be in good physical condition (not sleep-deprived, intoxicated, or under the influence of any substances).

The equipment needed for a skydive includes a jumpsuit, harness, helmet, goggles, and gloves.

Once you’re ready, after a 15-minute briefing with instructions and tips, you’ll board the plane and ascend for about 15 minutes to 4,000 meters. Then comes the moment to jump and dive alongside your instructor. The freefall begins, during which you’ll drop from 4,000 to 1,500 meters, reaching speeds of 250 km per hour.

At that height, the instructor deploys the parachute, and you’ll glide for a few minutes before landing. Are you ready to take the plunge?

No prior experience is necessary, just the right attitude and the certainty that you want to experience this in your life—if not now, then when?

That’s why here are the best places to skydive in Mexico, whether you choose the beach, the forest, or the city. The skydive will be equally amazing and unforgettable no matter the location!
